Single-photon diode by exploiting the photon polarization in a waveguide

Abstract

By exploiting unique polarizations in nano-photonic waveguides, a single-photon diode is implemented by coupling a quantum dot to the waveguide which possesses a locally planar, circular polarization. The contrast is 0.9, allowing practical applications.
