Abstract

Retinal photoreceptor cells respond to light throughout our lives because they continuously regenerate 11-cis-retinal. Defects in proteins involved in these processes cause photoreceptor degeneration. Our goal is to elucidate the mechanisms leading to retinal degeneration.
