Abstract
We present a comprehensive theoretical modeling of spectral light scattering phenomena from bacterial colonies. Using scalar diffraction theory, individual colony is modeled as a spatial light modulator which modifies amplitude and phase component of incoming wave and the effect of three major components were analyzed which are elevation, diameter, and refractive index of a colony.
