Bright Coherent Ultrafast X-rays from mid-IR Lasers

Abstract

We combine the attosecond physics of high harmonic generation with phase-matching in extreme nonlinear optics to demonstrate bright coherent upconversion into the X-ray spectral region using longer wavelength mid-IR lasers.
