Abstract

The optical signal that is obtained by the photoelastic modulator (PEM) is a group of middle data, and it can be used for spectrum recovery in order to obtain its frequency spectrum. Considering the nonlinear phase, spectrum recovery, by means of the fast fourier transform(FFT) which is based on linear phase DFT, can result in serious distortion. This paper utilizes the algorithm of the non-uniform fast fourier transform (NUFFT) for spectrum recovery of the interference data, in order to get the accurate and reliable spectrum data. First, we use the virtual oscilloscope, which is based on high-speed data acquisition card PCI-5122, to acquire the interference data. And the data is generated by 652.6nm laser going though the the photoelastic modulator interference. And then the laser spectrum of interference spectrum is recovered in the matlab environment. The recovery results show that the wavelength measurement error of collected 652.6nm laser data is less than 6nm, the recovered error is less than 1%. This verifys the feasibility of the algorithm for the spectrum recovery of non-uniform photoelastic modulation interference data, and has reference value for the design of high-performance photoelastic modulator-fourier transform spectrometer.
