Fabrication of twin-core fiber and its application in all-fiber comb filter

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Twin core fibers(TCFs) with different cross section and core center-to-center distance were fabricated by our innovative method. The fiber comb filters based on a TCF coupler with an uniform free spectral range and based on a TCF Mach-Zehnder interferometer with flat passband have been discussed. The splicing techniques of the TCF have been studied, and a novel all-fiber connector is proposed for connecting each core of a TCF to a single-core fiber (SCF) core simultaneously.
