High performance interleave filters composed of planar lightwave circuits on Si

Abstract

In this paper we describe the design, fabrication, and performance of an interleave filter fabricated on a planar lightwave circuit on Si. We discuss several key techniques for improving the performance of this filter including design optimization, a stabilized coupler, a polarization compensation method, a compact circuit layout, and a heater phase trimming method.
