Picosecond Cross-Phase Modulation in Silicon Photonic Wire Waveguides

Abstract

We demonstrate strong cross-phase modulation in Si photonic wire waveguides using picosecond pulses. The tight optical confinement of wire waveguides enhances the nonlinearity, allowing a scheme for all-optical control of optical pulses.
