Fighting Mode-Profile Scattering Losses at Bragg Mirror Interfaces

Abstract

When a guided-wave impinges onto a Bragg mirror, a fraction of the light is not reflected and is radiated into the claddings. We present a conceptual tool and its experimental validation for removing these losses.
