Abstract

An efficient numerical method based on Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DtN) maps was developed for computing waveguide modes in photonic crystal (PhC) slabs. The discretization of a three dimensional volume is avoided and the waveguides modes are calculated on the boundary of a central unit cell.
