Silicon-silica Monolithic Photonic Integration for Telecommunications Applications

Abstract

Applying silicon photonics to telecommunications, which requires low loss and polarization independence, we have developed a photonic platform monolithically integrating dynamic devices made with Si wire waveguides and passive devices made with high-Δ silica waveguides.
