Enhanced Efficiency of Light Emission from ZnO/Ni Core/shell Nanowires: Effects of Surface Plasmons

Abstract

Enhancement of light emission mediated via surface plasmons is demonstrated in ZnO/Ni core/shell nanowires, based on time-resolved photoluminescence measurements. The obtained results are promising for future light emitters with spin-enabling functionality.
