Narrow-band thermal radiation by resonant modes inside tungsten microcavities

Abstract

Narrow-band thermal radiation is presented using a periodic array of microcavities on tungsten surfaces. Thermally excited modes inside the microcavities are found to resonantly enhance thermal radiation at specific wavelengths.
