Efficient generation of isolated attosecond pulses through relativistic effects

Abstract

Focusing relativistic-intensity pulses to the wavelength scale in plasma leads to the formation of isolated attosecond pulses with ten percent efficiency in simulations. Experiments show this relativistic electron motion is present at 5×1017 W/cm2.
