Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the pushing of gold nanoparticles by surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs). 2-D FDTD simulations indicate considerably enhanced optical forces due to SPPs and gold particle-film interaction, in comparison to total internal reflection illumination.
