Optical turbulence strength sensing using a video camera

Abstract

We present a method for remote sensing of the path-average turbulence strength, based on measurement of the angle-of-arrival fluctuations of reflections from a naturally illuminated arbitrary target. Experimental estimation shows reliable results.
