In-vivo depth evaluation in brain imaging by coherence length tuning of VCSELs

Abstract

We evaluate a technique to determine the relative depth of brain blood vessels in-vivo through tuning the VCSELs’ coherence length. The rate of change in speckle contrast with decreasing coherence length was correlated to vessel depth.
