Abstract

In a typical wedge-shaped waveguide structure, the image plane and the aperture axis is dislocated and this configuration is hard to equip the system and decreases the imaging efficiency. For solving these drawbacks, we analyze the relation between the aperture structure and the waveguide parameters such as taper angle and refractive index. Through the simulation, we derive the numerical equation for on-axis imaging system and design the wedge-shaped waveguide with the prism aperture structure. Experimental results show that the proposed aperture structure enhances the image quality and expands the expressible area.
