Abstract

The need for high-density and the large capacity optical recording devices has become a pressing one, and the current near field recording (NFR) technology has been considered as a strong candidate to surpass the far field diffraction.1- It uses solid immersion lens of high refractive index for high numerical aperture larger than one. The size of optical head (Focusing Unit-FU) for the NFR system is so small, thus the misalignment between the OL and SIL causes an aberration2- and influences on the optical performance. In this paper, we emphasized the sensitive assembly problem of the FU and verified propose auto-alignment method experimentally.
