Laser sounder approach for measuring atmospheric CO2 from orbit

Abstract

We report on an active remote sensing approach using an erbium fiber amplifier based transmitter for atmospheric CO2 measurements in an overtone band near 1.57 µm and initial horizontal path measurements to <1% precision.
