Abstract

The concept that blood, urine, and other body fluids and tissues can be collected and analyzed to yield information for diagnosis of disease states or to monitor disease progression and/or therapy is the foundation of modern medicine. However, the use of breath as a collectable sample has not received comparable clinical use.
