A 1.16-μm-radius Disk Cavity Embedded in a Sunflower-type Circular Photonic Crystal with Ultrahigh Q

Abstract

We demonstrate an ultrahigh loaded quality factor of 7.4 × 105 measured from a 1.16-µm-radius disk cavity, which is embedded in a sunflower-type circular photonic crystal. The design principle and structural optimization details are provided.
