Future spaceborne and Current Airborne Lidar Remote Sensing for Atmospheric Research

Abstract

The spaceborne lidar missions ADM-Aeolus, EarthCARE, and MERLIN will address key scientific questions for atmospheric research related to weather prediction and climate change. Recent airborne lidar observations will be discussed to illustrate the potential of these challenging future missions.
