Passive Phase Locking of High Power Yb-doped Fiber Amplifiers Arrays

Abstract

High power passive phase locking of 4-channel and 8-channel CW Yb-doped fiber amplifiers arrays with ring cavity are experimentally demonstrated, and the maximum coherent output powers are up to 1062 and 1066 W, respectively. Then a passive coherent beam combining of two nanosecond amplifiers is demonstrated and the total combined peak power is 25.3 W with 9.7 ns pulse width.
