Abstract

This paper proposed a novel metal coated surface relief grating for CO2 laser. Artificial Bee Colony algorithm combined with Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis is resorted to optimize this grating. A gold coated grating with a reflectivity greater than 99% for TE wave and an extinction ratio higher than 30dB ranges from 9.1 to 10.95um is obtained.
