Abstract

We theoretically and numerically study the absorption effect of a novel terahertz wave absorber. An equivalent circuit model is proposed to estimate the resonant characteristics of the proposed terahertz wave normally incident on the structure. Theoretical results show that the absorber has a high absorptivity of 99.968% and a minimum reflectivity of 0.032% at frequency of 0.28THz. The predicted resonant absorption frequency of the explicit expression shows a good agreement both qualitatively and quantitatively. This research can provide a theoretical basis for the preparation of terahertz wave absorber devices with good absorption characteristics. The absorption bandwidth is of 316.5GHz.
