Abstract

Coupled split-ring resonators with structures similar to the frustrated spin systems are designed and fabricated. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurements display various pronounced resonances with distinct polarization dependencies. The geometrically frustrated metamaterial has two-fold degenerate magnetic resonances at infrared frequency.
