Design of Twin Core Fluorine-Doped Photonic Crystal Fiber Directional Coupler Incorporating Elliptical Air-holes

Abstract

Using an accurate simulator based on full-vectorial finite element method, we demonstrate the operation of a novel type of photonic crystal fiber coupler with inherently flattened wavelength (900-nm) and polarization-insensitive coupling characteristics.
