Compression of self-guided femtosecond laser pulses in solid bulk medium at normal dispersion regime

Abstract

Compression of self-trapped femtosecond laser pulses in bulk fused silica at normal dispersion conditions is reported. Improvement of the spatiotemporal pulse shape and formation of soliton-like field distribution is observed.
