Nonlinear prism coupling of MEH-PPV waveguides and their figure of merit for all-optical switching

Abstract

Nonlinear prism coupling of MEH-PPV waveguides was used to measure their nonlinear refractive index. The strong nonlinearity combined with extremely low linear losses leads to high figure of merit and make the material promising for all-optical switching applications.
