Enhanced Nonlinear Optical Response and All-Optical Switching in AlGaAs Micro-ring Resonators

Abstract

We have constructed and characterized several photonic devices based on optical micro-ring resonators. Light is guided vertically by epitaxially grown layers and transversely by air-clad sidewalls. We describe the phase transfer characteristics all-optical switching in these devices.
