Abstract

Impact of a duty cycle on the optimisation of ultra-narrow off-centred VSB filtering in a wavelength allocated CS-RZ transmission at 40Gbit/s is investigated. A feasibility of Nx40Gbit/s DWDM transmission of CS-RZ signal over 600 km with 0.64 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency has been confirmed by numerical modelling, without the use of FEC and PDM.
