Spatial Solitons in Quasi-Phase-Matched Quadratic Media: an Asymptotic Approach

Abstract

Previous work in producing Kerr effects in quadratic materials focused on deriving an averaged system of cubic equations. Instead, we use an asymptotic approach which captures the fast behavior, and gives conditions for slow evolution.
