Megawatt solitons in a gas-filled photonic-crystal fibers

Abstract

We show that the dispersion of a hollow-core photonic band-gap fiber is anomalous throughout most of its transmission band. We generate Raman-shifted solitons in air and non-self-frequency shifted solitons in Xe with mewatt peak powers.
