Towards a cavity soliton laser: Localized emission states in vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with frequency-selective feedback

Abstract

We report on experimental investigations of self-sustained bistable localized emission states in vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with frequency-selective feedback without purely electrical pumping. Some insight is obtained already by a plane-wave theoretical model.
