Design of integrated optical source of polarization-entangled photon pairs

Abstract

The phase matching for frequency-degenerated parametric fluorescence in tunneling- coupled channel waveguides is analyzed. Type II down conversion with individual photons in each pair appearing in different output channels allows for generation of polarization entangled states well suited for quantum information processing applications.
