Abstract

We discuss recent studies of nonlinear optical processes in gas-filled photonic band-gap fibers. Such fibers can support pulses with intensities of 1013 W/cm2 over distances exceeding 100 meters and thus allow for unexplored regimes of nonlinear optics with gases.
