Nonlinear effects in a periodic structure with alternating positive and negative index materials.

Abstract

We present a general framework for analyzing transmission properties of 1D periodic structures with alternating positive and negative media when either could exhibit nonlinearity. Numerical results demonstrate intensity dependant shift in the transmission spectrum and bistability.
