Abstract

We investigate the impact of the wavelength dependence of the discrete diffraction on the dynamics of Light Bullets in a periodic medium. This dependence gives rise to a strong spatiotemporal coupling, which in turn leads to an acceleration of the wave field at the transition between nonlinear and linear propagation. We are able to derive an analytical expression for the acceleration rate and give experimental evidence.
