Scaling of Dissipative Soliton Lasers to Megawatt Peak Powers

Abstract

Dissipative solitons can be stable despite huge nonlinear phase shifts. We exploit this property and scaling at constant nonlinear phase to demonstrate a femtosecond fiber laser with peak power 4 times greater than prior lasers.
