Vortex Solitons and Azimuthons in Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers with Feedback

Abstract

We observe vortex solitons and dissipative azimuthons in a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser with feedback, and demonstrate evolution between these states under parameter variation. Stable vortices and azimuthons also exist in a simple model system.
