Recent Advances in Silicon Photonic Components

Abstract

This paper will survey recent developments in silicon-based light emitters, waveguide structures, ultrafast modulators, infrared switches, direct-bandgap GeSn/Ge/SiGeSn/Si structures, photonic-crystal devices and subwavelength-plasmonic devices. Components can be designed for a wavelength within 0.3 to 100 μm.
