1.6μm emission properties of Ho3+ in fluoride and chalcogenide glasses for U-band fiber-optic amplifiers

Abstract

Non-oxide glasses doped with Ho3+ were proposed for U-band amplification. Characteristic properties of the 1.6μm band emission from Ho3+ ion were investigated. Effect of Tb3+ co-doping on the population density and amplification properties were analyzed.
