Reduction of Pattern Effects in an SOA-based 40 Gb/s Wavelength Converter

Abstract

We propose a simple filter scheme to reduce pattern effects in an SOA. The filter was applied to an SOA-based wavelength converter at 40Gb/s, resulting in a significant improvement of the wavelength converted data signal.
