Abstract

Extinction ratio improvement of modulated signals by Two-Wave Competition has been demonstrated for the first time. Experiments at 5 GHz using 4mm long devices achieved 2dB improvement, theory predicts 9dB at 40GHz for 8mm ultra-long SOAs.
