Application of VCSEL arrays to micro-manipulation of small objects and biological cells

Abstract

Vertical cavity surface emitting laser arrays are used to drive optical micro beams to transport inorganic and organic objects. This VCSEL tweezers method provides a more compact optical setup and allows manipulation of objects in an array.
