512-channel vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser based free-space optical link: results

Abstract

A vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) based bi-directional free-space optical interconnect has been implemented to interconnect two PCBs. A total of 512 clustered channels are propagated over a distance of 3 inches (75 cm).
