Abstract
We describe modulation and iterative detection techniques that improve the usable density and capacity of imaging page-oriented optical data storage systems while maintaining acceptable bit-error rates. The procedure iteratively compares the values of pixels in a local neighborhood to deduce the effects of intersymbol interference and improve the classification accuracy.
