Light Delivery for the Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) Head with Grating Structure

Abstract

New HAMR head with the grating structure is proposed and its geometric features are optimized with FDTD. With optical enhancement of surface plasmon polariton, it is expected that new head can provide better optical efficiency.
