Equalization of the non-flat Erbium Gain Spectrum using the Multiport Lattice Filter Model

Abstract

We propose an accurate modeling technique of long period fiber gratings. The proposed technique is, then, applied to synthesize long period fiber gratings for the Erbium gain equalization using simulated annealing and steepest descent methods.
